Miami Secures Top Spot for International Population Growth in 2023
New Census data reveals that Miami-Dade experienced a significant surge in net international population growth in 2023, surpassing all other counties in the United States.
The influx of new Miami-Dade residents from outside the U.S. surged by nearly 40% last year, totaling an impressive 54,457 individuals.
This surge in international migration sets Miami-Dade apart, with no other county in the nation adding as many new international residents.
When considering total population growth, including contributions from domestic sources and natural change, the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, FL metro area ranked tenth nationwide, adding 43,387 residents.
Within Miami-Dade alone, approximately 14,000 net residents were added, with international migration offset by domestic out-migration.
These figures underscore Miami’s enduring appeal as a global destination, attracting individuals from around the world seeking opportunity, lifestyle, and cultural richness.
